the clam is an all time classic.

I remember jumping off the clam at night, naked. We would jump off there all the time in the early 80's.One time my friend tried to do double bear claw,he jumped bounced off the first part and in to the water after that LOL.Dead mans use to be the spot to jump during the rough water drink. Some made it some had to be pulled out.The craziest was this one guy who rode off on his bike, easier to clear the cliff. It was real easy to climb back up the cliff back then.Oh well maybe when we have are reunion we can all do it again

Thanks for the work to put together this site, Will. It takes me back to my high school days in the mid 70's when we spent every free hour diving off the Clam. Alas! that was years ago and thousands of miles away from here. I hope to get back sometime...

Jump it all the time. If you go north around the corner there's another jump called the Bear's Claw and this is more of a target jump. If you swim around the point and go back to the shelf north of the Clam, there's a shallow rock you have to swim around. The Bear's Claw is the jump off the cliff and into the deep pool inside this rock. Don't do it at low tide!

Pretty cool shit man! I want go out west and jump that Dead Mans shit! The highest I have found over here in Vermont is a 60 ft. train bridge that we flip off into a river. We have some huge cliffs too! But none of that insane 100 ft. action. Hook me up with a plane ticket and I will be over there showing you boys the real deal. Double fronts, one and a halves, flip 360, backflips, workin on the gainer, etc. Keep the adrenaline pumpin! Nice site and insane video. Peace! Jer Man from gaysville, Vt.

i started jumping off of the calm and what we called the point (the projection just on the south side of the clam) in 1977.... it was cool... no one even cared if we jumped, and we never were hastled.... the myth was that huge morey eels were down there and if you went to deep they would grab you..... adios..

When am I going to see the Clam 2
  • Derrick USA Jun 16, 2000
Hey man, kick ass site. You guys should really go to Box Canyon. That place kicks ass..... and you won't get caught there as eaisly as The Clam. When I get a scanner I'll make a website for Box. And it has an even more extreme jump than dead mans, its about same height but you have to clear rocks and a tree. Well good luck with they site.
