What an interesting jump. How scary it must be to stand at the top off the cliff, jump and before you know it, you are either in the water gasping for breath or swimming to an area where you can climb up and do it again. Myself, being afraid of heights, don't see myself at the top of the cliff looking down, holding my breath and jumping. Good luck to all of those that do have the courage to stand at the top and jump and God be with you.

I really enjoyed the site and I think you did a great job of putting it together. I'm visiting California this summer and will be sure to check out The Clam. I don't think I will be jumping from it though.

man this shit is soft - try putting some photos of people that actually do real rock jumps and not just some shiners jumping of a 3m.

Great site!! I used to jump at the clam often between 91 and 94. Summer days there were the best! Often I'd jump at night naked. I lived closer to the arch and spent more time jumping or "Freeballn'" there. Box canyon was a lot of fun too. I'm living in Colorado now, but I still get back to San Diego and jump at the arch at least a couple times a year. What's the deal with the clam now? It is all fenced off. Do they guard from even climbing around there now? Punchbowl sounds great I'd never heard of it before. I'll have to go check it out this summer. I love the video! It sure reminds me of some incredibly fun times. I'm sure I've jumped with some of you guys before!
    Thanks,
    Carson

Saw the path from the La Jolla High message board.
    Brings back good memories.
Lived in the big victorian house up the path from the La Jolla Cove Store.
Came back for a visit last year in this week of February. I miss the place; La Jolla 'Wind&Sea', the 'Clam',
'MACMEDA Distruction Company', and all the great times.

Your site is exceptional. Your recommendations and the cautions you suggest show great wisdom.

    Thanks

    Awesome site....

My site (Malignity.com) is where I plan to put up my very own cliff jumping (QUARRY JUMPING, actually) site this summer. I live on the east coast, around Boston... and down the street where I live is a huge quarry where people come from all around to cliff (quarry) jump. It's fucking incredible, and I feel blessed that I live so close to this place (a 10 minute walk). The jumps range from 20 to 45 feet and I've done them all countless times... include the crazy ones (involving a lot of running and clearing stuff)...

I like your guides and nice photos...

To all the people who haven't CLIFF or QUARRY JUMPED... it's amazing, and you have to try it... I know, because it's become a real passion for me.

Hi peoples.. from an old jumper...I started jumping the Clam back in 1940...I was 12 years old. I jumped with my local La Jolla friends...about 12 of us. It was not against the law then..and we had to make a trail to the edge..was full of sagebrush. We never had anybody hurt during the 5 years that we jumped. It was a blast and FUN. We also dove for Abalone and Lobsters off the rocks by the La Jolla Cave Store.
